The Youngest Clock Tower Society Member Yet

Jake Cunning

After a formative fundraising experience, Jake Cunning chose to leave a generous gift to the University as part of his estate plan.

Jake Cunning, 25, graduated from Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science in business administration in management in 2016. He also recently joined the Clock Tower Society — becoming the youngest member in its history.

Jake works as the coordinator for learning and organizational development in human resources at Boehringer Ingelheim, at the company's Atlanta office. While in school, he worked as a student administrative assistant in the president's office, and says he loved his experience at Missouri Western. As an alumnus, he was a member of the GOLD (Graduates of the Last Decade) Network that planned Legacy Day during Homecoming week during the fall of 2017. As part of that network, he helped Missouri Western raise more than $10,000.

After his Legacy Day experience, Jake decided it was time to give back even more. He not only became a member of the Western League for Excellence Dean's Circle, he also became a member of the Clock Tower Society. He made a commitment of more than $100,000 to the Missouri Western Foundation through a planned gift in his estate plan.

"We all want to leave the world a better place than we found it," Jake says. "And what better place to give back than my alma mater that means so much to me. If you love Missouri Western as much as I do, it's important to give back."

Jake has proven it's never too early to be thinking about a planned gift. To learn how you can join him in his journey to give back to Missouri Western State University, please contact Kim Weddle at weddle@missouriwestern.edu or reach out by phone at 816-271-5648.
